sild

19 April / A total of 18 works were submitted to the design competition for construction of the Marja Street bridge.

The winning work will be announced in May.

According to Mayor Urmas Klaas, the city is hoping that the architectural competition will find the best architectural and technical engineering solution for the cycle and pedestrian track bridge, which will connect Supilinn to the Ujula-Kvissental urban region located across the river.

The jury will select the winning work based on the submitted plans and will create a list ranking the remaining works. During the assessment the structure of the bridge and the material to be used, the architectural suitability of the solution and the estimated cost of construction, as well as the possibility for economically feasible maintenance, will all be taken into consideration.

A contract will be concluded with the winner of the design contest, with which the basic project for the Marja Street cycle and pedestrian track bridge will be ordered. Funds have been set aside in this year’s budget for design work.
