/ The special menus of Tasty Tartu, the restaurant month taking place for the 12th time this year, offer new and exciting flavours while highlighting local ingredients. This year, diners can choose from 26 different restaurants, including five brand-new venues.

In addition to their main menus, most restaurants have developed adapted options for vegetarians and paired their special menus with matching beverage packages.

According to Kaili Ojamets, Head of the Business Development Department of the City of Tartu, interest in Tasty Tartu, which has been offering culinary experiences for over a decade, continues to grow among both restaurants and visitors – from local residents to guests arriving from further afield. “In 2025, more than 27,000 three-course special menu sets were sold during the campaign month, which is an excellent achievement for a city the size of Tartu,” she added.

This success is further illustrated by the fact that in October 2025, Tasty Tartu was awarded first place at the European Cultural Tourism Awards, where the jury highly praised how a well-designed campaign can simultaneously strengthen the city’s winter visitor experience, keep regional food culture vibrant, and promote principles of sustainability.

During Tasty Tartu, taking place from 1–28 February 2026, unique dining experiences can be enjoyed at 26 restaurants: Antonius, Aplaus 1870, Bar Parallel, Chaplin, Chez André, Crepp, Dorpat, Fii, Gastronomist, Humal, Kampus, Kolm Tilli, Lihuniku Äri, Pahad Poisid, Paper Tiger, Pazzo, Pierre, Pompei, Puente, Püssirohukelder, RP9, Sinimandria, Spargel, TOKO, Vilde ja Vine, and Vint.

The price of the three-course special menus ranges from €35 to €38.

Menus and participating restaurants can be explored on the campaign website: www.maitsevtartu.ee.

The special menu evaluation jury included Kerli Jalas (finalist of MasterChef Estonia: Professionals, Season 12), Kairi Timusk (vocational teacher and competition mentor in catering and tourism at VOCO), Eliis Sasmil (Young Chef of the Year 2025), and Marilin Kroon (Head of the Food and Service Economy Sector at the Business Development Department of the City of Tartu).

Tasty Tartu is an annual restaurant month held every February, aimed at revitalising the low season by offering affordable three-course special menus in the city’s best restaurants. The campaign is part of preserving and developing Tartu’s food culture. Over the past 11 years, more than 195,000 menus have been served in Tartu restaurants, and chefs have created nearly 200 special menus specifically for the campaign.
