Vote and help Tartu take home the people’s choice award at the Green Destinations Story Awards

11. veebruar 2021 / The success story of Tartu Smart Bike Share and green buses is nominated in two categories for the Green Destinations Story Award: Environment and Climate (ITB Earth Award, category Environment & Climate) and the People’s Choice Award. Everyone can give their vote to Tartu in the latter category.
In October, the City of Tartu entered the TOP 100 destinations list of the international sustainable tourism development organization Green Destinations. Among other things, Tartu is nominated in the category of people’s favourite destination. Everyone can contribute to Tartu’s victory on the website https://greendestinations.org/peoples-choice-award/. Voting will continue until 3 March.
In the Environment & Climate (ITB Earth Award, category Environment & Climate) category, the best are selected by a jury made up of experts in sustainable tourism.
The winners of the categories will be announced on 12 March, when the virtual international tourism fair ITB Berlin will be taking place.
Tartu submitted its success story – of city buses running on Estonian green gas and the city’s Smart Bike Share system – to the competition, with the goal being to reduce car traffic, noise and air pollution in the city centre.
