Residents of Tartu free to select the best construction work of the year

5 марта / This year, residents of Tartu will once again be able to take part in the competition to select Tartu’s best construction work of the year, and to select their favourite house from among new construction works and renovated buildings that received their authorisation for use in 2018.
Voting is possible until 11 March, via the City of Tartu’s homepage https://www.tartu.ee/ehitis2018). One can select from among 18 buildings, including new construction works as well as renovated buildings, private houses, apartment buildings and non-residential buildings.
The public’s favourite house, as well as the jury's acknowledgements in various categories, will be presented on 14 March 2019, in the City Hall Auditorium.
The Tartu City Government has been organising the best construction work competition since 1999. During the competition all of the buildings in Tartu that received authorisations for use in the previous year are assessed. The purpose of the competition is to place a value on quality design work and construction in the City of Tartu, which is born from good cooperation between the contracting entity, the designer and the builder.
A total of 126 authorisations for use were issued to buildings in the City of Tartu last year, and 144 use and occupancy notices were submitted and registered.
