Tartu Twin Towns’ National Cuisine Days in Tartu 2009

| From November 6th to 30th, Tartu is hosting a festival celebrating the national cuisines of Tartu twin towns. Top chefs from the twin towns of Tartu are presenting dishes characteristic of their national cuisine at our restaurants and cafés and also teaching the secrets of cooking to the local chefs. Each restaurant and café will also organise an event where the culture of the respective country is presented to the public. This year there will be chefs from Norway, Finland, Sweden, Latvia, Russia, Germany and Holland. |

You are invited to the National Cuisines Show!
The festival of national cuisines will reach its peak at the NATIONAL CUISINES SHOW, which takes place at Dorpat Conference Centre on November 6th at 7 p.m. Chefs of the twin towns are presenting the best dishes characteristic of their national cuisine.
Tickets (400 EEK) for the National Cuisines Show can be bought at the restaurants participating in the programme. |

Since November 6th everyone is welcome to sample the national dishes at the following cafés and restaurants:
Restaurant Dorpat – Norwegian cuisine (Baerum)
Big Ben Pub - Finnish cuisine (Hämeenlinna)
Restaurant Atlantis – Dutch cuisine (Zutphen)
Saloon Suudlevad Tudengid and pub Sõprade Juures – Latvian cuisine (Riga)
Restaurant Entri – German cuisine (Lüneburg)
University Café and Püssirohukelder (Gun Powder Cellar) - Swedish cuisine (Uppsala)
Restaurant Volga – Russian cuisine (St Peterburg)

If you visit all the restaurants and cafés that participate in the Tartu Twin Towns’ National Cuisine Days in the period of November 6th-30th and order at least one meal from the special menu of national cuisines, you will get a chance to win an exclusive dinner to the value of 1,000 EEK.

Once the official programme of the national cuisine days is over and all the chefs have left for their respective countries, the menus they have put together will remain in Tartu restaurants and cafés. Until November 30th, these national dishes will be prepared for the customers. If customers show interest in these dishes, they might remain in the menu for a longer period.
