Medal art triennial at the Tartu Art House
Tartu Art House press release
/ On Thursday, 18 January at 16 10th Baltic medal art triennial entitled „Baltic Unity” will be opened in the Monumental gallery of the Tartu Art House, Estonia.
Since 1986, Lithuanian medal artists in co-operation with the Lithuanian Artists’ Association have organised the Baltic medal art triennial. To mark its tenth anniversary, artists from Poland and Sweden have also been invited and the project uses the subtitle „Baltic Unity”.
To celebrate the one-hundredth anniversary of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, 100 works have been selected and the exhibition will visit all the participating countries. Medal as an art form has many advantages from its longevity and ease of distribution to the fact that it is used to comemorate various events, ideas and persons. This is why medals are especially suitable to celebrate our common round anniversary!
The exhibition will remain open until 11 February.
