Hanseatic Days in Tartu Photo: Sander Hiire

/ The hanseatic city of Tartu (Estonia) is participating in the international Hanseatic Days 2016 in Bergen on 10-12 June.

We are proud and happy to introduce the brandnew Estonian National Museum - you are most welcome to visit Tartu stand to get the first exciting glimpse.

The Estonian National Museum will be delighted to surprise the visitors with an extraordinary technological innovation which interlaces garment patterns with music. Pattern player makes the garment pattern audible, the up-to-date technology interprets an ancient garment like a CD player plays a rainbow-coloured disk. Device is connected to the digitized database of the Estonian National Museum's carpets and one can pick out an attractive carpet or a pattern to interpret it in music. The pattern player analyses the general tonality as well as pattern of a carpet and instantly a melody sounds. A technology like this can also be tested on one's personal cardigan sleeve in order to listen to the sounds of these colours and patterns.
Musician and creator of innovative sounds Peeter Rebane will be happy to perform at the Tartu stand.

The Estonian National Museum is the newest and most modern museum in the Nordic Countries. The new building of Estonian National Museum has been awarded with remarkable prizes in various contests and will be open on 1 October 2016 in Tartu.

The Estonian National Museum will be a museum of cultures which preserves the story of Estonia’s nation, people and folk and talks about peoples of the world. The museum houses traditions, new aims and engaging dreams. It will develop into a nationally and internationally attractive place and into a pleasant, inspiring venue for meetings and events in Northern Europe and Baltic States.

Come and have an inspiring time with us at Tartu stand during the hanseatic festivities on Friday and Saturday at 10-20 o'clock or on Sunday at 11-14 o'clock!
