Tartu Sumin opens with flea markets, courtyard events and a concert by Maris Pihlap

/ On Saturday, 1 August, the two-week-old town festival “Tartu Sumin” begins with Open Old Town Day, bringing markets, music and cultural events to the streets and courtyards of Tartu’s historic centre.
The opening day features five themed flea markets from 11 am to 3 pm: a fashion market on Rüütli Street, a book market on Kompanii Street, a creative market at Antonius Courtyard, a sports market at the Sports and Olympic Museum courtyard, and a children’s market at Magasini 3.
Several other venues across the Old Town will also join the festivities with special offers, pop-up shops, exhibitions, tours and activities. The day culminates at 7 pm with a concert by Maris Pihlap on the festival’s main stage, followed by an evening of music on Rüütli Street.
