New coronavirus testing tent opens next to the A. Le Coq Sports Hall

Tartu City Government Press Release

Testimisala

/ People with a referral to be tested for the coronavirus can choose whether to give a sample at the current testing site, located in the car park of the Tartu Song Festival Grounds, or in the new sampling tent located next to the A. Le Coq Sports Hall.

The new testing area will be opened at Ihaste tee 7, next to the A. Le Coq Sports Hall. The tent can be accessed via the access road located on the Luha Street side. An isolated area for cars and a separate area for pedestrian access, both with at least two waiting lines, will be established in the testing area.

Based on recommendations from the Health Board, one should arrive for PCR testing exactly at the agreed-upon time, not significantly earlier or later. A person suspected of being infected with the coronavirus must not use public transport to travel to the testing site, instead travelling by car or on foot.

On-site, you can provide a sample in the form of either a nasal swab or a throat-wash test; in the case of the latter, it is important to not eat or drink for 1 hour prior to the test.

Free PCR testing is only available with a referral from your family physician. On weekends and holidays the family physician hotline 1220 can also be used to obtain a referral for testing. Only people with symptoms are expected to undergo testing.
